My Dearest Miss Fairfax by Jeanette Watts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
In this Emma variation Jane Fairfax has grown up as a second daughter of the Campbells. Resulting in a very well educated andintelligent younglady who unfortunatelt is destined to be a governess. While the whole family are visiting Weymouth she meets Frank Churchill. But later as she visits Highbury can she find contentment among a society who seem to rate gossip as the only topic of conversation. What does she really think of the inhabitants. Is it possible for her to have a happy ending.
A thoroughly entertaining and well-written story.
