A Fete Worse Than Death by Dolores Gordon-Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
1922 Stanmore Parry village fete. In the tent of Madame Zelda lies a body. Can amateur sleuth and mystery writer Major Jack Haldean along with Superintendent Edward Ashley solve the crime. But soon there is another murder. But what could be the motive.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery. A good start to this series with its likeable main character.
