1886 Austra-Hungary. Professor Hermann Horst is recruited by the police to help in the investigation of the murder of head gardener Andrej Feher The request comes via Senior Inspector Orczy Géza of the Budapest Gendarme because he is deemed to be an expert on the supernatural. There is an old castle, a curse, and of course the murder.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with it's cast of diverse and interesting characters. Hopefully the start of a new series.
