1879 Lenox investigates the death of an apothecary, killed seven years previously. But then, when a murder occurs and he finds the same mark carved outside another shop, as with the cold case, he begins to wonder. Are there marks elsewhere, and possible further deaths. How will the investigation conflict with problems in his personal life.
An entertaining historical mystery. Another good addition to this enjoyable series.
