For Pierre d'Épiluçon France is now too dangerous to stay, so he flees across the Channel in a stolen boat. Fortunately for him he is shipwrecked but saved by a local fisherman's daughter, Helena. Can this chance encounter and the differences in their situations make a happy ending possible or not.
An enjoyable, well-written quick read with some very human characters.
