Harry Browning, born into poverty, and with both parents dead, has after killing his uncle, run away. By chance he comes across Lord Preston hanging on for dear life to a cliff. As a reward Preston gives Harry a home and a job.
Will Harry grow to love his new home too much, and what of the spoilt daughter of Squire Bow. Eventually the relations of Preston come expecting their inheritance. But soon a murder occurs. Investigator Mr Formby arrives to discover the truth.
Another enjoyable romance and mystery is this series with its cast of likeable characters
