1952 After many mishaps Inspector Frank Grasby is sent to the village of Elderby to investigate a series of thefts from the estate farms of Lord Damnish. But he discovers a body in a chimney at Holly House. Then another death occurs. What is really happening in the area. But his investigation doesn't always go as planned, and he is attacked several times.
An entertaining historical mystery but not too sure about the character of Grasby. I am curious to see how his character is developed. So a decent start to this new series.
