1895 Barnabas Shaw sends a message to his cousin, spiritualist Edward Blackmore, as his wife Emma seems to be possessed. Eventually he arrives at Thistlewick Tye, but he is too late. Soon he becomes embroiled in the mystery surrounding a circus back in 1855.
An entertaining and well-written historical Gothic mystery with its cast of interesting characters.
