1922 and Emily Bennett is working at the Pennyfield Post in Limehouse. Have witnessed the death of magician Chung Ling Soo on stage four years previously she believes that contrary to the verdict that it was murder, and wants to investigate to find the truth. Along the way she meets a host of characters involved in the China tea trade, and drug supply. Will she uncover the truth.
An interesting and enjoyable well-written mystery, with its cast of colourful characters. A good solid start to a new series.
