A re-read of this P&P sequel where Mary Bennet, twenty-two years old, is the last of the sisters still at home. A neighbour, Thomas Bowens, has acquired the care of his nephew and nieces after his sister dies and needs help with their daily instruction. Mary feeling the need to escape Longbourn and do something with her life agrees to become their governess.
A delightful, well-written story, with a likeable Mary.
