February 1923. Major Heathcliffe Lennox and ex DCI Jonathan Swift are recruited to investigate the staff of Brundles, concerning the death of Ezra, Fourth Lord de Ruyter, while dining at the club. He was the main suspect in the 'Birdcage' murders in 1911.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery. Another good addition to this enjoyable series with its likeable main characters.
