May 1884. A constable is killed in a bomb explosion. Even though this is not Inspector Reid's case, Leonora must again work with him, a man she now mistrusts. As they both believe the wrong person has been arrested. But another dead body does become his case. Is there a connection between the two and what are the motives.
Ab entertaining and well-written historical mystery, with its likeable and interesting main characters. Another good addition to this enjoyable series.
